2024.09.30
  • Destination Furano

On your second day at Nozo Hotel, explore Furano’s nearby towns, landmarks, and various attractions–all within a short drive from our property!

Tokachidake Bogakudai

Start your day bright and early by heading towards Biei. Take in the magnificent views from the top of Tokachidake Bogakudai, situated on the slopes of Mount Tokachi. One of the most iconic vantage points in the area, visitors get a stunning view of the autumn foliage covering all of Furano and Biei. The autumn leaves blend seamlessly with the steam rising from active volcanic vents, making for a truly unique experience. It’s one of the earliest spots in Japan to experience fall colors, usually starting in late September.

6 minutes by car from Nozo Hotel.

Shirahige Falls

Next, visit the stunning Shirahige Falls, where slender streams of water cascade down the cliff into the crystal-clear, blue waters of the Biei River. The combination of the waterfall, river, and autumn leaves creates a visually stunning spectacle.

Blue Pond

The Blue Pond in Biei is famous for its otherworldly turquoise waters. In autumn, the contrast of the blue water with the golden leaves of the fall trees creates a beautiful scene. Late September to early October is the best time to witness this magical collaboration of colors.

Biei Pasture Farm

After spending time out in nature, satisfy your appetite with local dairy delights at the Biei Pasture Farm. As the weather cools, the creaminess of the local dairy intensifies, making the Biei Soft Cream an unforgettable treat. Don’t miss their limited-edition buttery biscuits, available only from September to October.

Shikisai no Oka

End your day with a visit to Shikisai no Oka, a famous flower farm featuring vibrant autumn blooms like blue salvia, marigold, sunflowers, and cosmos. The colorful fields, set against the backdrop of the Tokachi Mountains, creates an absolutely unforgettable view. Enjoy a meal at the garden’s restaurant, where dishes are made using vegetables grown on the farm.

20 minutes from Biei Pasture Farm.

Patchwork Road

Before returning to Nozo Hotel, take a scenic drive along Patchwork Road. This 19-km stretch offers views reminiscent of European countryside landscapes, with golden fields of dried grass and local landmarks such as the “Ken & Mary Tree,” and the “Parents & Child Tree.”
