As autumn arrives in Furano, nature’s focus is shifted from blooming flowers to beautiful color shifting autumn leaves. The peak season for viewing fall leaves comes earlier than in other parts of Japan, typically from late September to October, where visitors can enjoy the striking colors of larch, birch, maple, oak, and grapevines. Here’s day 1 of our 2-day travel guide that will immerse you in the beauty of Furano and Biei’s autumn, all within easy access from Nozo Hotel.
